Well the temps have dropped and ice is forming on the lakes! It is time for some ice fishing here in the northland. We will be getting out as soon as the ice is safe. Make sure to always check ice before you head out in the early season. You can find places with 5 inches and take a few steps and its only 2 inches. I would like to give a few helpful reminders for this upcoming season. Give all you gear a "once over." Make sure the auger runs well, set up the portable fish house, spool up with new line, and make sure to re-tie any hooks or jigs. I have gotten all my tip-ups and rods ready to go. Stay tuned for some reports and also some helpful tips and techniques! Contact me for any questions or articles you would like to see for some helpful hints on the ice this season!
